当事人自序：受张公《余医生》一文，及有跟贴提到欲知欧美人事比看西方风景更有兴趣的启发。遂把一篇我的病人写在YELP（暂译“要帮”，除非瘦鸡有更好的建议）网上的品评，中英文并列，转到校博。要帮网专门让消费者写评论，以帮助其他人要寻找服务时有所依从。呜呼！余悬壶济世经年，只落得个四星黄绿。祈求这篇翻译习作，获校博五星品评。

I was reluctant originally to come to Dr. Dik Cheung for an eye problem because there were no reviews and I had nothing to judge him by other than an old military photo. I'm a dufus and expect my doctors to be fully costumed in white lab coat and appear scholarly.
我眼睛有病去看张医生，原先有点心猿意马。因为在要帮网上找不到有对他的任何评论，只看到一幅穿军装的照片，我无法判他。恕我是个头脑简单的人，我心目中的医生应是衣冠楚楚，穿着白袍的学者。
Dr. Cheung is extremely professional. His clientele appear to be heavily Mandarin-speaking, but he and his receptionist both speak English completely fine.
张医生极其专业。他的病人都在讲中国话，但他和接待人员都讲良好的英文。
The waiting room is heavily adorned with his various accomplishments from serving in the US military. Some of the awards seem to suggest that he served in an ophthalmological capacity, but I could be wrong. I didn't talk to him at all about it, but he's obviously very proud of it (as you can see from his choice of photo) and deserves it, from seeing all his adornments.
候诊室的墙壁上，挂满了他在米军服务的奖状(题图)。如果我木有搞错的话，有些好像提示眼科方面的成就，我完全木有和他讲到这些话题。从他挂出来的照片和奖章来看，他显然对这些感到相当自豪，诚然，他当之无愧。
The wait time for my first visit was about 40 minutes from my appointment time, but I was of course a new patient and had to fill out the usual new-patient disclosure forms and insurance info.

I rate Dr. Dik Cheung 4 stars because I will not hesitate a second to come back to him again if I ever have any other eye trouble again, but there are a few things that I think could be improved.
我评张医生为四星，虽然以后我眼睛有毛病我会毫不犹豫地回来找他看，但他有些方面仍然有些改善的余地。
- (Positive) My primary care practitioner misdiagnosed my eye problem as an eye infection. I don't blame her - I thought that's what it was, myself. But after a few weeks of no improvement, she suggested I see an actual eye doctor instead. Dr. Dik Cheung took one look at my eye through his magnifier and immediately explained that there was a minuscule speck of metal that had lodged in my eye and was rusting. He explained he would get it out for me and it wouldn't hurt. He numbed my eye with some eye drops and a couple minutes later, extracted the tiny metal and tiny rust from my eye. He was right... it didn't hurt at all. And from then on, my eye finally started to heal and get better again.
（长处）我家庭医生误诊我的眼病为发炎，我不责备她，是我自己强人所难。过了几个星期还不好，她就建议我找眼科医生。张医生用放大镜（译者注：是眼科专门使用的裂隙灯）一看，就马上告诉我，有块极小的铁屎嵌顿在眼上并已经生锈。他说他可以无痛地除掉它。 他用眼药水把眼睛麻醉，两分钟之后，就把那小金属粒和锈从眼睛里取出来。他木有说错，一点也不痛。从那以后，我的眼睛终于痊愈正常了。
- (Positive) My initial visit was a same-day appointment. I called in on Friday morning and they let me come in the same day in the afternoon. Finding a place that is willing and able to do this is exceptional and serendipitous.
（长处）我第一次看病是同一天就挂到号。我星期五早上打电话，就约到下午。能找到这样的服务可以说是绝无仅有。
- (Positive) My follow-up visit involved little to no wait, and I was in and out in under 30 minutes. Dr. Cheung re-examined my eyes, checked the vision in each, gave me feedback and helpful information.
（长处）复诊几乎无需等候，我一进一出30分钟不到。张医生再检查我的眼睛，检查两眼视力，告诉我有用的资讯。
- (Negative) They don't accept credit card payments. Only cash/check.
（短处）他们竟然不收信用卡，只收现金或支票。
- (Negative) The office was having excessive trouble verifying my insurance info (deductible, co-pay, etc.). Technology has improved significantly and these things CAN be verified instantly, nowadays, online. I've seen my other doctors do it without issue. The bar has been raised, and Dr. Cheung's office ought to acclimate to this greater standard.
（短处）办公室费了九牛二虎之力来核对我的保险资料（如头款， 共付款之类）。在当今的科技进步了，这些都可以在网上即时查到，我看过的其他医生都木有这样繁琐。行家的水准提高了，张医生的办公室也应与时共进。
If either one of the latter 2 negatives were changed and addressed, I would easily give Dr. Cheung & his office 5 stars instead.
如果后者的两个短处其中有一个改进的话，我会改评张医生及他的办公室五星。
